Fewer controls to coordinate
An automatic car selects forward gears for you. You still learn careful observation, speed control, positioning and how to deal with junctions, roundabouts and changing traffic.
Choosing what suits you
Automatic tuition may suit learners who find clutch and gear coordination difficult or who intend to drive an automatic car. It is a personal choice; discuss your needs rather than assuming one option suits everyone.
A lesson plan built around your experience
Beginners can start with the controls and moving off. Learners moving from manual lessons can build on road awareness and other skills they already have.
Check vehicle and instructor availability
The Hexham reference page mentions automatic lessons, while the general service page lists other coverage areas. Please confirm current Hexham availability before making plans. Compare manual lessons and pricing options.
